    STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, December 6, 2019 — Chelsea Financial Services is organizing a Toy Drive this holiday season in Staten Island to benefit local children in need via Where to Turn, a local crisis relief services organization.

    Frank Cilento, a Financial Advisor at Chelsea Financial Services, is heading up the Toy Drive. “We just completed a successful Thanksgiving Food Drive for Project Hospitality,” Cilento said. “We wanted to continue that momentum with a Toy Drive for the kids in our community who are going through tough times this holiday season.”

    Cilento has been a longtime Chelsea Financial Services Financial Representative. He began his career in Financial Services in 1990, and joined Chelsea in 2009. Cilento is no stranger to community service; he has been an active member of the South Shore Rotary Club since 1992, including as a past President and Paul Harris Fellow. This Toy Drive sponsored by Chelsea Financial Services ties in well with his annual work with the South Shore Rotary Club where he fundraises for gifts for the holiday party for children at PS37.

    As a resident of Staten Island, Cilento is proud to be part of a firm that, like him, has many longstanding charitable ties to the community. “It’s great to work and live in the same community; This way, you can really experience the positive impact your employer makes, especially with our annual charitable giving at the local level.” added Cilento.

    2019 HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE INFORMATION

    Please drop off new, unwrapped toys at Chelsea Financial Services’ Corporate Office located at 242 Main Street, Staten Island, any time between the hours of 9am and 5pm, Monday through Friday, until December 19th.

    All toys will be delivered to Where to Turn by December 20th. The Where-To-Turn.org Toy Store will be open December 21st.

    Chelsea Financial Services’ Baron “Barry” Willis Leverages His Financial Advisor Experience for Positive Political Change

    STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, December 3, 2019 — Chelsea Financial Services Representative Baron T. “Barry” Willis discovered the best way to quell his complaints about government overspending and ineffectiveness was to stop complaining about it and get involved.

    “I have been a Financial Advisor and Insurance Broker for over 25 years. I knew my experience in finance could really translate to government, especially in helping Boards and Committees make appropriate financial decisions for our communities.” said Willis. “As a longtime resident of Alpine, California, my first step into government was with the Alpine Fire Protection District.”

    Willis, a Financial Advisor who has been with Staten Island-based Chelsea Financial Services since 2015, started to campaign in Alpine in July 2018 to challenge an incumbent who hadn’t been challenged for many years. “I literally went door-to-door, knocking on over 2500 doors and standing out in front of Alpine’s local Albertson’s probably 50 times to meet as many residents as I could to ask for their support and vote.”

    Willis’ efforts paid off; He was elected to their Board and started serving in November 2018. One year in, Willis is proudest of the budget surplus that Alpine Fire Protection District continues to have. “Government overspending is one of my prime complaints about government in general, so keeping a budget surplus year after year shows fiscal responsibility. In this dangerous fire climate, it is especially important to have adequate funds to support our Firefighters and our Fire Marshall to provide them with all the tools they need to protect our communities, without going into a budget deficit.”

    Willis didn’t stop his foray into politics with his Alpine Fire work; He also campaigned and was elected as a Commissioner on the San Diego LAFCO Board (Local Agency Formation Commission), 2019-2023, where Commissioner Willis votes on critical countywide issues like land use and annexation.

    Willis is married to Jeannette Clark, a Psychotherapist who is in private practice. They have 2 daughters who are attending San Diego State University. Willis graduated in Political Science at the University of California, San Diego.

    As a Financial Advisor, Willis focuses on Retirement Planning, but also handles Life and Health insurance for his many clients. Adds Willis: “My role as a Financial Advisor requires me to listen carefully and be responsive to my clients’ needs, two skills that I think we need in every Public Servant.”

    Chelsea Financial Services’ Christopher ( Chris ) Vetrano Heads Firm’s Thanksgiving Food Drive for Project Hospitality

    STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, November 4, 2019 — Chelsea Financial Services Representative Christopher (Chris) Vetrano is spearheading a Thanksgiving Food Drive to help benefit Staten Island community members who are hungry, homeless or otherwise in need this holiday season.

    Vetrano, a Registered Representative who has been at Chelsea Financial Services for 12 years, wanted to do something special for the community for the holidays. “We selected Project Hospitality as the beneficiary of our food drive due to their excellent work with the homeless and others in need, in Staten Island and beyond.” Vetrano said. “Besides providing food when and where it’s needed, they also do outreach, education and youth programs to help improve the lives of those going through tough times.”

    2019 THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: TIMES, LOCATION and items needed
    Drop off non-Perishable food items at Chelsea Financial Services’ Corporate Office located at 242 Main Street, Staten Island, any time between the hours of 9 and 5, Monday through Friday, until November 21st. Non perishable items most needed are: Canned Fish and Meats, Hot/Cold Cereals, Shelf Stable Milk [Parmalat], Tomato Sauce/Canned Tomatoes, Black & Kidney Beans).

    The following perishable items may be dropped off on November 21st only: White & Sweet Potatoes, Onions, Winter Squash, Carrots and other Root Vegetables.

    All items will be delivered to Project Hospitality in time for Thanksgiving on November 22nd

    ON A RUN TO END CYSTIC FIBROSIS: Chelsea Rep John Pirozzi Joins the 2019 TCS New York City Marathon to Raise Money for the Boomer Esiason Foundation

    STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, OCTOBER 15, 2019 — Chelsea Financial Services (Chelsea) Representative John Pirozzi will participate in the TCS New York City Marathon on November 3, 2019 to benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation and Cystic Fibrosis Research.

    Chelsea Company President, John Pisapia remarked: “John Pirozzi has been a longtime Representative (since 2009) and a longtime Resident of Staten Island (since 1993) who has always been deeply involved in his community. I’m proud to support his incredible fundraising efforts to help end Cystic Fibrosis.”

    Pirozzi is no stranger to running but this will mark his first marathon. He has run the Brooklyn Half Marathon twice plus quite a few 5K runs, fundraising all the while. “My family is also a huge motivator for my fitness and fundraising goals…My wife of 27 years, Maria, plus my daughters Amanda and Brianna with my two Grandchildren keep me busy, not only running, but running around!” laughed Pirozzi.

    Pirozzi Adds: “Running is a big part of my daily routine. Even when I’m not running around my neighborhood in Prince’s Bay, running is incorporated into my training at my gym, Outerbridge Crossfit, where my coach John has been preparing me to make sure that I finish the race…Plus, I’m running for a great cause, so that makes it all that more rewarding and motivating!”
